Wine Tasting at Longridge 29th January 16:30-19:00

Following the hugely successful launch of the Wannabees wine group and our first event at Dornier where 150 of our members enjoyed the wines, snacks, and beautiful setting, we are visiting Longridge this month.

Longridge can only accommodate 100 members and the quality wines and gourmet snacks will make this a popular event for members, who are encouraged to book early in order to avoid disappointment.

Members are also welcome to stay on for dinner at the acclaimed restaurant on the estate that serves South African inspired food.

The Wannabees wine group will visit each of the estates that allow us to traverse their properties during 2020 and our members are encouraged to support the farms and their wines.

Please book early by clicking on this link.

Welcome back and may 2020 be a fantastic year on your MTB bikes and trails. After all the new additions last year to the trails, we are looking at some more exciting additions and upgrades this year. The trails are currently in good condition, many thanks to Errol and his teams for the maintenance and upkeep.

MTB Trail Conduct and Rules

From 1 February our marshals will out on the routes to make sure that all riders have valid 2020 boards on their bikes. So please make sure you have registered and collected your board. We will have a zero-tolerance policy as from 1 February and no rider will be allowed on the trails without the valid 2020 board or day permit.
To be able to ride on the farms is a privilege that the farmers gave us and not a right. We need to respect them and adhere to the rules that are set out.
Your MTB Board must always be affixed to the front of your MTB. No board no ride. There is a strict policy of rogue riding that is enforced by all the trails in the Western Cape.
Below the conduct and rules that we expect our members to adhere to:

Be courteous at all times, it is a privilege to have the access
Give way to any farm vehicles, especially machinery that is in use for normal farming activities
Do not abuse residents, family members, resident’s dogs and farm employees.
No abusive language or gestures may be used against fellow cyclists, farm residents or any other user of the trails.
The farmers and their employees have the right to report your board number to the committee for any poor behaviour, and the club’s code of conduct will be enforced
Ensure your ICE number is on the reverse of your board and stored on your cell phone without a pin lock
Carry your club membership card or some form of ID with you in the event of an emergency
Notify the committee of any damaged, broken or missing signage.

Rules of the trail:

Use at own risk.
No ride before sunrise and after sunset.
All gates that need to be opened must be closed after you.
The board may not be used by anyone other than to whom it is assigned.
MT Biker’s must ride single file on all public tar roads as with Road cyclists.
Stay on marked route, do not cycle alone.
No litter/No fires/No smoking/No shouting
No swimming, No access before sunrise or after sunset
Yield to others and animals, never scare the animals
And the most important is, Enjoy your ride
