Stanford MTB Classic – 29 Feb – 1 March 2020

Five simple steps to a guaranteed magical mountain biking experience on 29 February – 1 March 2020 at the Stanford MTB Classic, compliments of the Overberg MTB Events team.

  1. You’ll be the first to ride the newly crafted Ultimate Southern Pass Trail.

With the help of the legendary Cape Trails team, we’ve been hard at work the last three months hand-crafting spectacular, purpose-built mountain biking singletracks for your riding pleasure. The new trail links Stanford Valley Guest Farm to Paardenberg and you’ll be the first to ride it.

One taste of this new offering will have you begging for more! And the best news? We have plans in the pipeline to extend the trails even further through a series of committed partnerships with local landowners.

  1. You’ll get to experience unsurpassed village hospitality from a bygone era.

Discover the true gem that Stanford Valley Guest Farm is, on and off the bike.

With the hard kilometers behind you, kick back and unwind on the vast green lawns under the shady oak trees where lunch is served (and included in your entry fee). Or treat your family to a delicious meal at the Manor House Restaurant. Book directly with them in advance via info@stanfordvalley.co.za.

Alternatively, if temperatures soar, cool off in the gorgeous farm dam, sipping on some locally produced and award-winning wine or beer.

Hang out, meet new friends, make new memories.

  1. You won’t go hungry.

We have a reputation for the best waterpoints that we intend to uphold. The hardest part may actually be convincing you to get back on your bike!

Our waterpoints are designed to be spectator-friendly and we encourage you to get your family out there!

Suggest that they meet you on Day 1 at Stanford Hills Tasting Room where the kids can enjoy the play area while the folks munch on a delectable breakfast or light lunch. Check out what’s on offer at www.stanfordhills.co.za.

On Day 2, get them to visit the naturally peaceful Paardenberg to show their support as you tackle the 53km route. A friendly face might be just what they need at this waterpoint, although the braai and fresh coffee on offer usually helps to lift any potentially flagging spirits!

  1. You get to decide! Pick from our flexible route options to suit your riding level.

New to mountain biking or an experienced rider? Two days or one day? Long or short route? We’ve got you covered!

For more information about the routes and our affordable entry packages, please visit www.stanfordmtbclassic.co.za.

  1. You’re spoilt for choice with a multitude of available accommodation close-by.

On-site luxury tented accommodation can be booked as an additional extra during the registration process, or you might want to consider staying at any one of several beautiful accommodation offerings in the area.

An incredible weekend package deal is on offer specifically for the Stanford MTB weekend (R1500 for two people sharing). The package includes accommodation at The Stanford Hotel; an afternoon cruise on the Lady Stanford (BYOB), and a delicious three course meal at the local Italian La Trattoria restaurant in town.

If you have already booked accommodation but want to still join us for an afternoon cruise on the Lady Stanford and a two topping pizza at La Trattoria on Saturday evening, make your booking using the same package button below. The more the merrier!

Should neither of these options suit, contact Willowdale Farm or Stanford Tourism for more information.

We’re looking forward to sharing this small piece of paradise with you. Sign up and we’ll see you there!
